Extended service-life and improved properties of wood products through the use of functional nanoparticles in clear coating and adhesive systems

WOODLIFE – was a project within the EU Seventh Research Frame Programme (FP7), in the area of NMP (Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies).

The long term objective of this three-year Project was to provide coated and glued wood products with substantially improved durability for a more sustainable society.

The consortium consisted of 11 partners from 6 countries developed new water-based clear coating systems for wood with improved UV-absorbing properties, and new water-based thermoplastic wood adhesives with improved mechanical properties.
